Rahul Gandhi is an Indian politician who comes from the Nehru-Gandhi family, which has been an integral part of Indian politics since its inception. He was born on 19 June 1970 in New Delhi, India, and is the son of former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi, who has also served as President of the Indian National Congress.

Rahul Gandhi studied in Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College and then in Harvard University. After his studies, he joined the Indian National Congress and has been actively involved in politics ever since. Rahul Gandhi was first elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) from Amethi constituency in Uttar Pradesh in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections. He has since been re-elected from the same constituency in 2009, 2014, and 2019.

During his political career, Rahul Gandhi has held various positions of responsibility in the Indian National Congress. He served as General Secretary of the party from 2007 to 2013, and was later appointed as Vice President of the party in 2013. In 2017, he was elected as President of the Indian National Congress, succeeding his mother, Sonia Gandhi.

As President of the Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi led the party into the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but failed to prevent the party’s worst-ever performance, winning only 52 seats out of 543 in the lower house of the Indian parliament.

Despite the setbacks, Rahul Gandhi remains a popular figure in Indian politics. He has been known for his campaigns to tackle corruption and for advocating for the rights of farmers and other marginalized sections of the society. However, his critics often accuse him of lacking popular appeal and political acumen, which has hindered his political career.

Overall, Rahul Gandhi’s life and career have been shaped by his family’s legacy and his commitment to social justice. Despite the challenges he has faced, Rahul Gandhi remains a powerful and influential figure in Indian politics today.
