New Delhi : Gold prices edged up by 0.68 per cent to Rs 33,526 per 10 gram in futures trade Tuesday as speculators raised their bets, tracking a firm trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold to be delivered in April was trading higher by Rs 226, or 0.68 per cent, at Rs 33,526 per 10 gram in business turnover of 1,480 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in March contracts were trading higher by Rs 220, or 0.66 per cent, at Rs 33,379 per 10 gram in 1,315 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants amid a better trend overseas influenced gold prices at futures trade.
Globally, gold rose 0.13 per cent to USD 1,329.80 an ounce in New York.
