JAMMU, MAY 15: A 2 day National Convention entitled “Natural Farming- Modern Technology; Coordination and implementation” is being organised by Student Welfare Trust, Bhopal and Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi from May 20, 2022 at NASC Complex, ICAR Pusa, New Delhi.

The themes of the convention are based on farm sustainability and Natural Farming.

The Poster of the convention was today released by Vice Chancellor SKUAST-JAMMU Prof. J.P. Sharma along with Agrivision State Incharge Dr. Arti Sharma, Agri-vision State Convenor Sourav Manhas, NEC Member Radheyshyam Kumawat, Unit Media incharge Manjot Singh.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. J.P Sharma recalled the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi speech on Independence Day in 2019 wherein he said that fertilizer and pesticides are damaging the health of soil.

“The Government of India through its cabinet decision has taken up a strong initiative for the promotion of natural farming in the country” , he added. Talking about current status, Prof. Sharma informed that at present 11 states in India are practicing natural farming over 6.5 lac hectare area.

On this occasion, Dr. R. K Salgotra Head School of Biotechnology, Dr. Rakesh Sharma Asst. Professor, Dr. Puneet Choudhary, Megha Abrol, Meghal, Tanvi Choudhary, Shivalika and Prajwal Kotwal were also present.
