Justice Sh. Sanjay Kumar Gupta passes away

JAMMU, JULY 28: The sitting Judge of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir Justice Sh. Sanjay Kumar Gupta has passed away due to his prolonged illness at Jammu. He was born on November 24, 1961 and was only 59.

He was graduated in law from the University of Jammu in 1982 and became a member of the Delhi bar Association. He later joined Jammu Bar and commenced his law practice by joining the chambers of a Senior Advocate late Sh. SS Lehar and continued to practice both at High Court and its subordinate courts.

In 2004, Sh. Sanjay Gupta achieved a major breakthrough of his law career when he was directly recruited through higher judicial services as a District & Session Judge. He served the judiciary in various capacities. He was also appointed Principal District & Session Judge Jammu and during this tenure on June 6, 2017, he was elevated to the High Court Judge.

He was a very fine noble human being and his untimely demise is a jolt to the the whole legal fraternity.
