Ballia, Jul 21: A farmer died when lightning struck him in his paddy field in the district, police said Sunday.

Prabhu Sahni (36) was sowing paddy when he was struck by lightning on Saturday.

He was rushed to a hospital, where the doctor declared him dead, police said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem.
