ANANTNAG : Department of Horticulture Kashmir today organized one day exposure visit cum awareness programme for orchadists of Anantnag, Pulwama , Shopian and Kulgam at Bamdoora Anantnag.
Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat who was the chief guest on the occasion impressed upon the farmers to work jointly with the Department for enhancing productivity and development of Horticulture sector on the latest scientific lines with an aim to have maximum yield on the available land. He stressed upon the importance of adopting organic farming system.
The Director also emphasized that use of pesticide should strictly be ensured as per the recommendations of the SKUAST/Department of Horticulture.
Earlier, farmers visited the highland high density orchard and other apple tree nurseries at Bamdora and lesser area of the District.
Besides, Joint Director Horticulture L.K Bali, Farm Manager ACHD Rajbagh, CHO’s, SDHO’s, other experts of the Department and 400 orchardists attended the camp.
