‘In-principal’ approval for issuance of identity cards to all Indian citizens living in all the border districts of the country along with the approval for continuation of Border Area Development Programme (BADP) upto March, 2020 has been accorded and Registrar General of India (RGI) is entrusted with preparing a detailed scheme in this regard.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju in a written reply to question in the Lok Sabha today.
