The number of terrorists killed/arrested during the last three years and the year 2018 in terrorist incidents in the State of Jammu and Kashmir is as under:-

The Government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism, and effective response is given by the security forces to counter terrorist activities. As per reports, around 300 terrorists are active in the state and they are helped by some locals.

The Government has implemented a number of measures to mainstream the youth; including providing employment opportunities, sports and cultural activities and youth exchange programme. Rs. 80,068 crore has been provided under the PM Development Package, 2015 for development activities. Besides, the following schemes have also been undertaken: –

• Special Industry Initiative (SII) –Udaan to enhance skills and employability of Graduates and Diploma holders for jobs in the Private Sector.
• Skill Development & Employment Scheme (Himayat) – to provide options and opportunities to School/ college dropouts for salaried jobs in the private sector or self-employment.
• Special Scholarship Scheme (SSS)- to provide financial assistance to students having passed Class 12th or equivalent exams for studying in colleges and institutions outside J&K.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
