204 police boats have been provided to coastal States/UTs under Phase-I of the Coastal Security Scheme (2005-2011) based on the threat perception of each coastal State/UT.

An amount of Rs.1023.50 crore has been allotted for procurement of 225 new boats under Phase-II of the Scheme (2011-2020) based on the vulnerability assessment of the coastline.

60 jetties have been sanctioned to coastal States/UTs under Phase-II of the Scheme. As on date, 30 jetties have been constructed/upgraded. Implementation period of Phase-II of the Scheme has been extended up to 31.03.2020.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
