RAMBAN, JANUARY 06: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat Sunday convened a high level meeting of senior officers of various departments to review Physical and Financial achievements under district capex budget and state and centrally sponsored schemes besides taking a firsthand appraisal of efforts being made by the departments on the ground for restoration of essential services in the district during winter especially snowfall.
SSP, Anita Sharma, ADDC Ramban Nawab Din, ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain, ACR, Harbans Lal, CPO, Uttam Singh, CMO, XEN of PDD, PWD, PHE and PMGSY besides other District and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
Bhat reviewed the performance of PWD, PHE, PDD, Horticulture, Sheep, Animal, Agriculture, CAPD, PMGSY, JKPCC, Police Housing Corporation , Housing board and Municipal committees and directed to all ongoing developmental works including Degree college Banihal PHC Ukhral, Gujjar Hostel Ramban, Road Projects, Water Supply Schemes , PDD works under SAUBHAGYA and other schemes within prescribed time for the convenience of general public.
He also reviewed the stock position of Food Grains, Timber, Fire Wood , LPG and Kerosene besides the implementation of various flagship and other schemes of horticulture, agriculture, social welfare, education and sports department.
DC said that prompt action by the field staff following heavy snowfall has resulted in quick restoration of services in the affected areas of the district. He said snow has been cleared from all major roads and lanes while power supply has been restored and water supply to in all affected areas of the district have been restored, He said special reinforcements have been deployed on roads of far flung areas especially leading to hospitals and local headquarters.
He directed the officers of all essential departments to be proactive and ensure that there were no interruptions in essential services due to the inclement weather situation in the district and directed the officers for continued efforts and close coordination between all the line departments till the inclement weather prevails.
Bhat said the administration is well-prepared to deal with challenges of the prevailing weather situation in the district and said the general public can report their problems to concern department, SDM, Tehsildars, as well as district administration.
