Financial Assistance from World Bank for PMGSY

The World Bank is assisting construction and upgradation of road works under Rural Roads Projects (RRP) under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The loan of US$ 1400 million from World Bank was signed on 14th January, 2011 and was effective from 18th February, 2011 and extended upto April, 2018. The brief description of the project is given below:-

Further, the Ministry has availed an additional financing of US$ 500, for which the loan was signed on 31st May, 2018 and became effective from 18th June, 2018. The tentative coverage under the project is around 11,000 Km. So far, sanctions have been accorded to the States of Uttarakhand (1531 Km), Meghalaya (996 Km and 112 Km- for Green and Climate Resilient Technology) and Tamil Nadu ( 100 Km- for Green and Climate Resilient Technology).
