JAMMU NOVEMBER 11- Former minister and State Secretary National Conference Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia on Sunday called for putting up a brave and united fight against divisive forces, saying the politics of hate is detrimental to the interests of the nation and the state.
“Jammu and Kashmir has a rich and glorious pluralistic ethos which is needed to be promoted and sustained at all costs”, Mr Slathia said while addressing workers at Village Rajinder Pura Bagona in Vijaypur Assembly Constituency.
“We, in Jammu and Kashmir, should close our ranks in combating every attempt of dividing the society on caste, region and religious basis and isolate the peace inimical elements by further strengthening bonds of amity and brotherhood”, he maintained.
Mr Slathia lauded the unbreakable spirit of the people in maintaining peace, much to the discomfort of peace-breakers who are hell bend to flare up disharmony between various segments of the composite society. He stressed the need for fighting divisive forces, hoping that all segments of society will work towards building peaceful, harmonious and prosperous state.
The State Secretary complimented politically sagacious people of Vijaypur for their endorsement to the policies and programmes of National conference which stands for singularity of the State and equal opportunities of progress and development its distinct three regions and their sub-regions.
“We will fight with our full might the attempts of polarising the people”, Mr Slathia said, adding that National Conference will keep the flag of amity and brotherhood aloft at all costs.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Ex-Sarpanch Brijpal Singh, Chains Singh, Dev Raj, Ved Parkash Singh, Puran Singh, Mnohar Lal, Narinder Singh and others.
