Traffic Regulated on NH 1D from Kargil towards Srinagar

KARGIL 09 NOVEMBER: After 6 days from the Snowfall on 3rd of November, the Strategic National Highway 1D Connecting Ladakh with Kashmir, opened again for vehicular traffic after the clearance of snow from Zojjila.

Chairman J&K legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali is personally monitoring the smooth passage of the Stranded Vehicles and Passengers announced 10,000 Rupees for the deployed workers of Border Road Organizations Project VIJAYAK.

Haji Anayat Ali is accompanied by Councillor Chiktan Mohsin Ali, Councillor Shargole Mohammad Ali, SSP Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar, SDM Drass and Vijayak and police Officials.

Meanwhile Mechanical Department has stationed its JCB and Tripper along with one Recovery and Dry Mud to ensure the smooth passage of the Traffic.

Around 200 Light Vehicles,  and 100 Trucks Stranded at Meenamarg crossed Zojjila and after that vehicles from Drass and Kargil will be allowed to move but due to slippery road condition traffic jams are frequent.

Its pertinent to mention here that and more than 1500 Passengers and 600 Vehicles stranded in Kargil.

Haji Anayat Ali while talking to Media at Zero Point told that he has taken the issue of handing over of Snow Clearance work beyond Zero Point upto Baltal to Project Vijayak of Border Roads Organization and has assured the people of Kargil to take the matter once again with the Home Minster and DG BRO.

Meanwhile according to Metrology Department J&K there will be light snowfall and Rainfall in J&K on 13th of November 2018.
