5 legal literacy clubs established in Bandipora

BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 19: In order to spread legal awareness among the students and to make them aware of various provisions of the constitution, five legal literacy clubs were opened by the District Legal Services Authority Bandipora.

These legal literacy clubs were established in five government institutions viz-a-viz Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bandipora, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Dawar Gurez, Government Higher Secondary School Arin, Government High School Asham, and Government Girls High School Hajin Bandipora.

The legal literacy clubs at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bandipora and Government Higher Secondary School Arin were inaugurated by Secretary DLSA, Iqbal Ahmad Aakhoon, whereas other two clubs at government high school Asham and government girls’ high school Hajin were inaugurated by Chairman TLSA Sumbal, Manzoor Ahmad Choudhary. The legal literacy club in Government Girls Higher Secondary School DawarGureaz will be inaugurated on 26th of the current month. The legal literacy clubs were facilitated with computers, law books and other necessary infrastructure.

While speaking on the occasion, Secretary DLSA Bandipora said, the objective of opening legal literacy clubs is to provide ready study material to the students and to familiar them with legal knowledge. “Students will know the rights available to the citizens, duties enshrined by the constitution and the legal remedies available against arbitrary decisions and negative discriminations”, he said.
