The National Health Mission (NHM) in India was founded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 2013. It was launched by the Government of India in 2013 with the aim of providing universal and affordable healthcare to the nation’s citizens. The NHM is responsible for the implementation of various health programs and initiatives across the country. Its founding members were Dr. Manmohan Singh, the then Prime Minister of India, and Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson of the National Advisory Council.
