The Government has sanctioned raising of 6 additional battalions to BSF on 19.01.2018 having total financial implication of Rs. 2090.94 crore. All these battalions have since been raised for deployment. A proposal for raising some additional battalions in ITBP is also under consideration.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju in a written reply to question in the Rajya Sabha today.
