Secretary IT reviews progress on hosting data of A&Ts Deptt on J&K Data Centre

Administrative Secretary, Information Technology (IT) Department and CEO, J&K eGovernance Agency, Amit Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the progress on hosting data of Accounts & Treasuries (A&Ts) Department on J&K Data Centre.

The meeting was attended by DG, Accounts and Treasuries Mahesh Dass; Additional Secretary IT, Rajinder Khajuria; CAO, A&T, Anudeep Kour; ASIO NIC, Mohammad Saleem Khan; Scientist E NIC, Rajesh Kumar; Project Manager JaKeGA, Irfan Ahmed; Analyst IT JaKeGA, Arun Panotra and other concerned officials also participated in the meeting.

Speaking in the meeting, Amit Sharma said that J&K Data is getting upgraded in a big way in which critical data of revenue department and police department is being hosted already and hosting the data of all the treasuries of J&K is a big thing for IT department.

The Secretary Amit further said that all security measures are being taken to host data of all departments safely in J&K Data Centre including replication of all data in DR Centre located at Secunderabad and this upgraded Data Center is the backbone of UT administration with the hosting of eOffice and all important data of the Government.

He assured the meeting that survey will be conducted for using Lat-Long of 12 treasuries which are in far flung areas of the Union Territory and other 95 treasuries through MPLS Fiber connection in the shortest possible time.

DG, A&T, Mahesh Dass said that under this project , there will be total synchronisation between NIC Softwares, JaKeGA operations and Finance Department for revamping online operations of all treasuries successfully.

During the meeting, it also decided that core technical team shall keep meeting frequently to ensure successful implementation of this upcoming project for Finance Department.

Pertinently, under this project, the Data Centre will connect 125 treasuries of the UT through leased fiber line using MPLS technology.
