DDC Kishtwar inspects progress on 1000 MW Pakal Dul HEP

District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara visited various sites of 1000 MW Pakal -Dul, Hydro electric project here at village Dangduran and Arzi Dul and reviewed the progress of work there.

KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 28: District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara today visited various sites of 1000 MW Pakal -Dul, Hydro electric project here at village Dangduran and Arzi Dul and reviewed the progress of work there.

He also took stock of the implementation of Local Area Development Plan and Reconstruction and &Rehabilitation plan for the displaced people.

He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Amir Hussain; SDM, Marwah, Dr Javid Iqbal Rather; ALC, Anoop Kumar; District Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Sanjay Sen; District Sheep Husbandry Officer; Tehsildar Dachhan Mohammad Younus Zargar; Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramod Kumar; CGM, Chenab Valley Power Projects. P.B.Jain; DGM AFCON, Kartiken; Consultant Civil Jai Prakash Associates limited, Murari Singh; AGM Jai Prakash Associates limited V.K kutyal; AGM AFCONS, N. Masoodi; AEEs, and other officers/officials .

While briefing the DDC, the CGM said that the construction of Pakal Dul HE Project was started in the year 2018 and is targeted to be completed in 66 months at an estimated cost of Rs 8112.12 Crore.

During the interaction with project authorities and officers at Dangduro, the DDC reviewed the progress on the vacation of acquired houses and structures, provision made for accommodating Government Primary School Sewarbati, provision made for water supply to the displaced families, construction of Veterinary dispensaries, Dipping tank for Sheep Husbandry Department, Training Centre of Agriculture department, alternate route for the Dachan beyond the submerged Zone, recreational facilities at Dachhan, disbursement of various components of R&R plan, among others.

The DDC fixed the timeline for each work to be executed by various executive agencies and asked SDM Marwah and Tehsildar Dachan to monitor the progress daily on real time basis. He also stressed upon the conducting the weekly review of the progress so that all the timelines are met and prestigious project is completed on time.

Regarding issue of labour welfare, he directed the project authorities to ensure that timely wages are paid to the workers and the basic amenities for labour welfare and safety are provide at the work site. He asked the ALC Kishtwar to submit a report regarding the number of locals engaged by companies , number of workers from outside the UT with family wise breakup of each project sites. To know whether youths are engaged commensurate to their educational qualification, he further asked the ALC to submit the comprehensive report regarding the parameters on which the youth have been engaged by the companies. Directions were also issued for providing employment letters, wage slips and identity cards to all the workers working at project site.

Responding to the demand of the public, the DDC exhorted upon the CGM CVPP ltd to conduct a geological survey of effects of blasting on the habitations near dam site at Dangduro. Directions were also issued to the XEn PMGSY for expediting the pace of work on the Dachhan road besides to prevent any mishap. The XEn PDD was asked to shift the power line passing over the Dangdaroo village.

Later, during a review at project site at Dul, the DDC was informed by ACR Kishtwar that various components of Local Area Development Plans (LADP) includes Construction of community hall, two passenger sheds with toilet, water supply scheme for Arzi village, Veterinary Dispensary and a Veterinary Mobile Van, Dipping Tank for Sheep Husbandry among others. In this regard, the DDC emphasized upon all the stakeholders to work in close coordination and meet the deadlines set for all works.
