Muzaffarnagar (UP), Aug 23: A 26-year-old man who was absconding has been arrested in connection with the rape of a five-year-old girl five months ago, police said on Friday.

Shankar has been arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping the minor at Tisang village in Jansath area in March, an officer said.

The five-year-old had gone to a fair with her mother when she was abducted and raped in the fields, the police had said.
